East, meet west. These knives combine the craftsmanship and detail of the best Japanese knives with a more western shape.
These knives are also a little more familiar in the sense that they are heavier than the half tang knives simple because the blade is housed all the way to the end of the handle.
The blade on these knives is said to look like moon lit waves lapping at a beach and is achieved by layering and folding the metal. Sturdy western style handles mean these knives will last and look great. East meets West.
The polished finish really does give the impression of "Moonlit waves" and these are a visually stunning knife suitable for any level of kitchen.
We were thrilled to see the Moonlit Waves featured as a "Editors Pick" in the December 2011 issue of Delicious Magazine.
They were praised not only for their sharpness but also the excellent way the design mixes a Western style handle with Japanese blade design.
A textured shiny black box, lined with red card. A clear plastic cover is included and each knife is hand packed in free Japanese newspaper with crazy adverts and last months head lines. Now that is unique.
All our knives also come with free blue plasters just in case you're not ready for the sharpness! If you intend to use your knives regularly (and you should be) then we don't advise you to use the boxes for day to day storage, get a magnetic knife rack instead.
