Bread knife

The humble bread knife, often over looked and neglected. If you don't own one you are missing out on a whole world of wonderful bready goodness.

We have all tried to cut a beautiful, fresh loaf of bread with a non serrated knife.  The result being a totally uneven and ripped lump of bread that’s fit for nothing. A serrated bread knife easily cuts through a thick crust whilst also neatly slicing through the soft centre giving perfectly even slices. It provides great control allowing you to cut really thin slices. The bread knife is the only knife we recommend that has a single use as oppose to the multi use chef’s knife and paring knife. As we said before it is about having the correct tool for the job.

If you've not used a bread knife before or just got used to sawing through your bread with a normal knife give yourself a treat and invest in one and see the difference it makes. If you are anything like us you will find yourself seeking out crusty speciality breads that previously you would have avoided because you couldn't cut them. We've upped our bread making as a result of this single purchase. Making your own bread and cutting it in style really does give a great sense of pride. As a bonus it is a wonderful stress buster and tastes amazing too.

The Japanese are not a huge nation of bread eaters so you won't find a bread knife in any of our Japanese ranges. Fear not we've stocked up with extras from the Western knife makers.
