Welcome to our website update!

The Cutting Edge Knives website has seen several iterations over the years since we first launched in 2011 and so we're delighted to release the latest major update moving to a refreshed look and feel while retaining a significant amount of our branding and features that we know from chatting to customers and visitors are very popular.

The last update was in early 2022 when we rebranded the entire company and so this time we're talking evolution rather than revolution.

The website is built and runs on the Shopify platform and so we've decided to strip back some of the many apps that were needed for functionality in the old site - navigation, filtering, promotions etc and make much use of newer built in functionality on the Shopify 2.0 platform.

As such, it should mean for your shopping experience the site is faster, works more reliably across different devices - in particular mobile - and on the product pages, even better focus on photos on larger screens and a slicker process when adding items to your shopping basket.

We hope you enjoy using it and we'd love to hear your feedback (and if you spot any bugs!). We're always working on the site and tweaking things to make it one of the leading places to buy Japanese knives online.

Some key updates

• Streamlined site navigation for main product categories and better navigation on mobile screens
• Overall website speed has been significantly improved
• Option to quickly add items to basket from collection pages
• More accurate search results on the fly in the site header
• Filtering - you can now select multiple product filters at once - eg, "Santoku" and "Gyuto" at the same time
• Product page overhaul to feature photos much more promiently on larger screens
• Slide out shopping basket to show your items quickly on any page
• "The Archive" - Moving old and unique products out of main collections if they're no longer going to be available
