We found this to be an ideal all round large chef knife, definitely big enough to work with larger vegetables and pieces of meat but thanks to the fine point of blade tip, it's also well suited to finer work on smaller pieces of food.
For those who prefer a larger all round chef knife, this is certainly one to consider thanks to it's shape and light weight it's a pleasure to use.
The stainless, powdered R2 steel used in the blade construction is very thin which lends itself to taking a very sharp edge and is hard enough to handle daily use without needing to worry about its strength.
There is a specially made saya to fit this knife.

What you get with the knife
Wrapped in the day's local newspaper and safely encased in a stylish black storage box with a red inlay and a small note from the blacksmiths explaining that this range is how they prize art and functionality; efficient cutting tools over ones that are simply beautiful. These are both.
Along with the normal packaging, we of course include our usual plasters just in case you're not quite ready for how sharp these knives are!
All our knives also come with free blue plasters just in case you're not ready for the sharpness! If you intend to use your knives regularly then we don't advise you to use the boxes for day to day storage, get a magnetic knife rack instead.
