Yu Kurosaki's Megumi Range
With their stunning looks and outstanding build quality these Megumi knives will turn any knife block into a piece of artwork.
*These knives are proving incredibly difficult to get hold of at the moment*
Yu Kurosaki is a blacksmith from Takefu, the youngest blacksmith to be granted the title of Master Nokaji by Takefu Knife Village Association and is the senior teacher there. He produces high end knives for Masakage but this range is under his own name.
Megumi means "blessing" in Japanese and the knives truly are a blessing with their beautiful looks and outstanding performance. They feature a stunning hammered damascus, stainless cladding and the core steel used is VG-10 that is hardened between 61:63 Rockwell.
The stylish Megumi Santoku.
The grind on these knives is outstanding and they perform exceptionally well. Stylish looks coupled with the buffalo horn and cherry wood handles make these one to add to your Christmas wish list.
What you get
Beautiful blue fibre boxes with the name in silver foil on the lid. On the inside you will find a blue stepped inlay and your beautiful knife of course, wrapped in Japanese newspaper by the craftsmen who made it.
So while not working on your knife skills you can catch up on your Japanese language skills. Talk about the gift that keeps on giving...
All our knives also come with free blue plasters just in case you're not ready for the sharpness! If you intend to use your knives regularly (and you should be) then we don't advise you to use the boxes for day to day storage, get a magnetic knife rack instead.
