A simple but efficient design for this petty knife made with a stainless VG steel and a well fitted, understated octagonal wood handle.
This would be a great option for a first Japanese knife and ideally sized and lightweight for a wide range of jobs.
We don't currently stock knives from Sakai Kikumori so this is a one-off for us at the moment although we will be adding stock from them over the next year, we think you'd definitely like this one from a company who have been making knives and swords in the Seki area of Japan for more than 600 years.
