Anryu Shirogami

This range by the incredible 4th generation master blacksmith Katsushige Anryu is crafted in white #2 (shirogami) steel sandwiched between soft iron and with a half and half kurouchi /damascus finish with an HRC of around 61 and is therefore a reactive blade. The blacksmith or kurouchi finish will protect it to a certain extent however care must be taken to dry the knife carefully after use. White #2 is a dream to sharpen and will take a screamingly sharp edge and this ranges represents great value for money from such an outstanding blacksmith.

The handle is oval rosewood with a black pakka ferrule.

What you get

A beautiful midnight blue box with Anryu San's signature in silver on the top, inside is a soft stepped velvety interior, the blade is wrapped in a single sheet of paper and is held safely with a block of foam.
