The blade is adorned with incredible hammer strikes to represent the thunder and lightning created by the god from who the knife takes its name and owning one would be like collecting a piece of fine art you can use and enjoy every day.

Performance

Outstanding performance as you'd expect from all knives made by Kurosaki san. The edge is excellent out of the box and the knives are reasonably light and well balanced.

Beauty

Stunning. Inspired by the god of thunder, lightning and storms you can see the custom hammer finish flashing across every blade in tribute to Raijin. Paired with a simple walnut and black buffalo wood handle the Raijin will catch the eye and stand out a mile in any kitchen.

Comfort

Light and well balanced with a typical octagonal wooden handle the Raijin is nimble and the smooth finish of the notch is a nice touch adding to the overall feel of quality throughout.

Durability

At 63HRC and made from a Cobalt Special Stainless steel the edge retention and durability are excellent and we'd expect them to remain sharp with minimal effort and honing between sharpening.

Ease of care

The Cobalt Special Stainless is easy to look after and requires minimal maintenance with just the normal care instruction of wash and dry between uses and avoid dishwashers! We'd suggest storing your knives on a rack or in a saya or using a simple blade guard.

Value for money

Kurosaki san is already one of the youngest master blacksmiths and has for years had an impressive global reputation for the quality of his knives and the standard of his workmanship and despite the high standard, we think the price for the Raijin is very reasonable and represents great value for money for a true work of art.
