I genuinely didn't know you could make a knife this beautiful. It's an absolute work of art and incredibly sharp.
I've been taking this thing in and out the box all day just to admire it, I still can't get myself to use it as it's bloody beautiful.

Understated but good looking. Very sharp as would be expected. Handle is comfortable when used correctly, not as comfortable if used Western style?
The heel of the blade is sharp, not rounded or oriented forward - cut thumb and forefinger a few times just in normal handling.

A beautiful roll that pairs wonderfully with their knife guards to make the perfect home for my knives, the owners James and Ally are also wonderful, their customer service is attentive and speedy. will definitely be shopping here again.

I love all jojiros , have a few now , super sharp very very sharp , which you may not expect for the money ! I prefer a japanese style handle , but that dosent stop me buying these excellent daily drivers ! They all are truly superb

I think the bottom line on this roll is to not hesitate and just get it. It's a great value roll using quite a resistant canvas. I keep all my knives in this at home but have also carried it in a backpack travelleling to a sharpening class without issue. Great piece of kit

Easy to use website, very reliable company, great products, excellent service. The need for courier to see proof age can cause a few missed deliveries though the delivery company does try to notify you when delivery is on the way.

Great product, I had trouble finding the rough ones available but I am glad I found some, These are amazing for cleaning whetstones, Much better than a nagura! but I cannot comment on the rust cleaning abilities as I have never used them for it (doh). It was my first time using cuttingedgeknives and everything went fine, I look forward to using them to add to my knife collection, Thanks again

Very good for push-cutting jobs. Have a larger, blunter knife for more brutal jobs. The gyuto 175mm makes vegetable cutting smooth & entertaining.

This is actually a deceptively beautiful petty knife capable of a variety of tasks. The quality of finish is better than described and exceeds my expectation and doesn't in any way compromise this knife's utility. The balance point is around the heel, which is what one would expect for a small blade, but in any case is helpful when fine knife work is required. The dark stained wa handle is entirely appropriate and sets off the gorgeous Japanese Damascus Tsuchime ironwork. And that contrast of hammering with the polished Damascus is actually excuisite. Curiously, there is no Hatsukokoro manufacturer kanji. That in itself isn't a denegration to my eye though there will be some who inevitably look for that sort of thing. The edge is sharp and delivers very fine slicing. The presentation box has the ambiance that adds to the anticipation of the contents. But it is the blade that is the star of the show. Just the act of slicing limes for a beer, or lemons for a G'nT, it has already caught the envious eye of friends who've noticed it on my chopping board. This is the only VG10 in my ownership, so I must hope that it will be as serviceable as promised. It will be given equal care and respect I bestow on Shirogami and Kumokage Blue2 in my drawer. A welcome accoutrement and an all round lovely find!

Much preferred over the leather or PU rolls and also comes at a fraction of the cost.

Got this as a daily driver and for sharpening practice , was quite surprised as its razor sharp out of box , and cheap ! Whats not to like !

I’ve been hesitant moving from stainless steels to reactive, and this SLD is rated mildly reactive so I’m dipping my toe in and I’m not disappointed. This knife has excellent balance, and I like how tall it is for a petty allowing me to catch the finely minced apples and fruit I’m preparing. I’ve given it a quick wipe after each use, and after three weeks of daily use it still looks brand new and feels just as sharp. Nice looking knife as well.
