Our in-depth range review

First Impressions

The exceptional edge and thin grind in this range combine to create knives that are very light in hand and boast a tall profile for extra clearance when working with larger ingredients.

Beauty

The striking and rich black damascus pattern is a joy to look at and paired with a classic octagonal handle. For damascus fans Shiro Kamo is definitely one to check out!

In Hand

The SG2 range is made to be a little taller than typical sizes which provides more clearnace when preparing larger ingredients and the subtle distal taper and geometry provide great performance across the range.

The spine on the SG2 range tends to be a little square and so perhaps not as smooth as knives where the spine has been rounded off.

Durability

SG2 is easy to care for and has great edge retention properties and so it's a widely used choice for durable high performance knives.

Ease of Care & Maintenance Tips

SG2 is a stainless steel and is easy to maintain and resharpen. Just follow our normal care instructions and this is a knife you will be using for many years.

Our Verdict

This is an easy range of knives to recommend, they boast excellent performance and geometry at an extremely competitive price point and if you're looking for a knife that's easy to look after with that beautiful damascus finish then this should be on your shortlist.
