The striking black FPEL Series board is designed mainly for commercial use and the same material and composition as the FSB & FPE series and the "FPEL" has been created primarily for chefs who work in front of customers where the black colour provides a greater level of contrast while displaying ingredients and to hide marks made while cutting food.
Each Hasegawa board has a wooden core to help with rigidity and keeps its shape while creating a weight saving over solid synthetic materials. The wooden core is sterilised and fully enclosed in the plastic casing of the board and so not exposed.
