Knot Handcrafted SF100 Nakiri
A nakiri with a slick finish and plenty of length and height for making quick work of a wide range of veggies.
First Impressions
Michael's knives are always beautifully finished and the SF100 is no different. The subtle distal taper, slightly convex grind and superbly finished edge all combine to give you a very smooth cutting experience.
Beauty
The subtle horizontal migaki hairline finish across the whole blade and similarly understated handles show a great attention to detail and a classy overall look.
In Hand
The handles do offer a nice feeling of weight and balance while the overall finishing touches around the heel and along the spine are excellent and have been subtly rounded to be as comfortable as possible.
Durability
The SF100 core has been heat treated to around 61HRC which offers a good level of robustness and edge retention in use.
Ease of Care
The SL100 is a stainless core steel clad with stainless so it's easy to care for and offers excellent levels of corrosion resistance and ease of sharpening so it's most certainly a low maintenance knife ready for use in any kitchen.
For long term care, we recommend a Japanese knife care kit and to follow our standard care tips.
Our Verdict
Classy knives from a UK bladesmith we always enjoy chatting with and seeing his work, the SF100 is well balanced across the range and cuts very smoothly while being a good mix of robust and easy to sharpen and look after so a great all rounder if you're looking for something a little different from an independent UK craftsman.
