A lovely deep damascus pattern and bold full-tang red pakka wood yo handle on this nakiri is a treat for the eye and a great veg prep knife for any kitchen.

First Impressions

Depending on your finish and handle choice, is collection boasts some impressive and varied knives to suit many tastes but the all have Kato san's thin flat grinds in common across the range and a light nimble feel in hand.

Beauty

The damascus finishes do vary across the range but each has its own charms and beauty depending on whether you prefer the hammer finish and darker matt finish or the polished square tsuchime. We've got our favourites, what's yours?

In Hand

Although there's some obvious variance in weight and handling due to some of the knives being fitted with wa handles and others with the slightly heavier Western shape yo handles where there is again some variance in balance points because some are half and others full tang. 

The wa olive wood wa handles are stunning and feature a more rounded heel and have a slightly more rounded spine for extra comfort. The red pakka wood yo handle versions in the range would certainly suit someone who prefers a little more weight further back in their knife but they remain nimble and still actually feel pretty light in-hand.

VG10 clad in stainless is a durable and easy to care for combination and popular for anyone who is looking for a low maintenance knife.

Classy knives from one of the best known blacksmiths at Takefu knife village, they're easy to care for, take very little effort to sharpen and look great.
