About this range

First Impressions

The SG2 glides through food, much of our testing has been vegetable prep and with the narrow profile and grind combined with the hard SG2 steel consistent cutting and edge retention have been very good and it's a range you should absolutely consider adding to your collection. 

Beauty

The real highlight of the SG2 knives is is the individual wave pattern created by exposing the SG2 steel core at the cutting edge and then leaving an unpolished matte finish on the SG2 cladding. 

Each blade has a unique finish and pattern and it contrasts well with the dark octagonal handle. 

In Hand

A traditional octagonal wa handle combines with a lightweight and well balanced thin blade profile make this very comfortable to use for a wide range of jobs.

Durability

The SG2 core steel is finished to an impressive 62-63HRC and will retain its edge and performance for a long time between sharpening. 

Ease of Care

Very easy to care for, SG2 is stainless, durable and retains an edge well so follow our normal care guide and perhaps consider storing your knife on one of our magnetic racks when not in use.

Our Verdict

Suncraft have created a really impressive collection of knives in the SG2 range that combine a great looking, durable and easy to care for blade and a stylish handle at a price point that represents excellent overall value.

They're a collection we'd certainly recommend if you're looking for a high performing knife with understated but classy looks.
