A striking yanagiba from Nigara Hamono's "Anmon" line, the subtle etched  damascus shows the layering in the steel in what is an incredible piece of craftsmanship and we've paired it with a beautiful custom amboyna and white marble horn handle from @letshandlethis.

This is a right handed knife and as each one is unique, the photos, video and product specifications are for this exact knife.

About this range

First Impressions

Nigara Hamono's knives are all impressively sharp right out of the box and you'd expect nothing less when looking at the highest level flagship knives in the Anmon range.

They're typically single bevel knives in the Anmon range and  designed for right handed use but there also extremely limited edition double bevel knives available (detailed as such where relevant).

Beauty

The famous Anmon damascus style is created by forging 25 layers of steel (and up to 250 layers for the Troll Killer knives!) which leads to some incredible and interesting patterns, each one of which is completely unique.

Every Anmon knife is listed as an individual product on the site and so the one you're looking at, is the only one with that incredible pattern and finish.

In Hand

With a mix of single and double bevel as well as varying handle fits in the Anmon range, the focus is very much on the balance and comfort of every individual knife and even the knives with the traditionally heavier full tang Western style ironwood handles feel light and nimble in hand.

The comfort and balance levels are excellent thanks to the attention to detail given to the Anmon.

Ease of Care

It's a reactive steel core so will develop a patina with use as you'd expect but it's easy to look after if you follow our normal care instructions and store properly when not in use.

Our Verdict

Sure, the Anmon is a significant investment in a knife but at this level of craft and quality you're going beyond just buying a knife because it's a quality blade.

The Anmon knives are collectors pieces as well as being exceptional knives and the combination of their extremely limited production levels means the lead time on them can be more than a year so if you're looking for a truly spectacular knife to join your collection from a top level maker then look no further.
