An eye catching all rounder from a master blacksmith this is an ideal utility knife with a great edge and finish.

First Impressions

Initial impressions tend towards the feel of the VG10 damascus when you pick it up.

With its integrated bolster and more Western style handle it has a little more weight to it but once you start to inspect your knife in a little more detail, you'll see the consistent grind and finish you'd expect from such an experienced blacksmith.

Beauty

There's no question this is a great looking knife, at first glance your eyes will probably be drawn to the striking oak handle with its integrated bolster but look a little closer and the subtle damascus finish and style of the blade is beautiful without being flashy.

In Hand

While it's not a massively heavy knife per-se, there is a little more heft to it when in hand simply because the bolster and handle contribute more weight than a traditional wa handle but the knife is still nimble with a good balance point close to the bolster.

The handle itself is nicely shaped to fit the contours of your hand so it's a comfortable knife to do your prep work with.

Durability

Stainless clad VG10 steel is a great combination for those who want simplicity and a robust knife for a wide range of jobs.

It's treated to around 61HRC which allows for good edge retention and durability and the VG10 is quick and easy to sharpen so it's a low maintenence knife you can just use.

Ease of Care

Just follow our normal care instructions and this knife will serve you well for many years. VG10 is an easy to maintain and sharpen steel and ideal for those who just want a knife they can pick up and get to work with.

Our Verdict

Great value overall, this is a quality and easy to care for blade with a stylish integrated bolster handle from a vastly experienced blacksmith.
