About this range

First Impressions

The KS has an impressive level of sharpness right out of the box but for the true enthusiast there's still plenty of untapped potential with a little additional touch up on your finer whetstones or ceramic rod and this is when it truly shines.

Available in either a reactive White #2 steel or a stainless Swedish steel the high performance and thin profile is excellent.

Beauty

The White #2 version is a fully reactive knife so will develop a fantastic patina across the entire blade as you use it over the years and this is really something special but if you prefer the out of the box look then the stainless Swedish steel gives you the same classic looks but without the reactivity.

It's paired with a D shaped ho wood handle and blonde or black ferrule that continues that simple but elegant look.

In Hand

The D shaped handle is in theory designed primarily for right handed use but it's absolutely fine for left handers too and the even grind of the blade means it's suitable for either left or right handers.

The KS in all sizes does tend to run a bit long in the blade - sometimes 10-15mm longer than the name suggests so a 240mm can be closer to 255 or even 260mm for example so please do check the technical details below for the exact measurements as handmade knives can vary quite a bit and these are a good example of that.

Durability

Depending on your steel choice in the KS range, either the mono steel construction using White #2 or stainless Swedish steel will take and hold an edge very well and it'll perform at whatever level you need it to.

Ease of Care

If you opt for the White #2 steel, it's a fully reactive steel you will need to be aware of the additional care and maintenance the white #2 steel requires as it develops a patina over time and with use.

However, if you love the knife profile and want a little lower maintenance then the KS is also available in a stainless Swedish steel which is much easier to care for.

Beyond that, the normal care and storage advice applies as with any other knife.

Some knives in the KS series are sold with a friction fit magnolia wood saya designed specifically for the knife to protect the blade when not in use and included in the price although not all have a saya included so where this is the case, we specify that no saya is included.
