About this range

First Impressions

An extremely well finished knife with a quality flat grind and top class attention to detail.

Beauty

This is a real beauty, the tsuchime finish designed to mimic the waves on the surface of water run down to the shinogi line where the knife then boasts a clean polished finish down to the exposed SG2 core line.

Understated for sure but a real beauty up close.

In Hand

The minamo is a higher end line and as such, the small touches like the rounding of the spine and heel of the knife are all smoothly done and the finish is excellent making it very comfortable and well balanced as you might reasonably expect for such a knife.

Durability

The SG2 clad in stainless steel is a strong choice that balances edge retention and durability and will provide a great level of performance over many years use when honed and maintained correctly.

Ease of Care

SG2 is a stainless steel and is easy to maintain and resharpen. Just follow our normal care instructions and this is a knife you will be using for many years.

Our Verdict

A stunning line from an excellent blacksmith and made with one of our favourite steels, the Minamo is a premium level knife but offers fit and finish to match and is certainly a quality choice if you're looking for a mix of subtle but detailed design and performance.
