Our in-depth range review

First Impressions

From the moment you open the subtle green presentation box and see the understated knife, it's clear it's been made by experienced and skilled hands.

With essentially zero distal taper and a flat grind running to a very thin edge offer clean and precise cutting.

The fit and finish are excellent and the edge performance is excellent as you would expect, the VG7 is ready to get to work in your kitchen!

Beauty

Subtle, understated and classy - the damascus layering running down to the edge has great detail and the tsuchime hammer marking is equally subtle but they both combine well and it's offset with a single piece octagonal walnut handle.

In Hand

Lightweight and nimble across the range, on the larger knives the balance point tends to be around the middle of the blade kanji and they're comfortable and easy to use for a wide range of jobs.

Durability

The VG7 core is a stainless steel and clad in a stainless steel too so these knives are easy to care for and boasts an excellent level of overall robustness and durability.

Ease of Care & Maintenance Tips

Follow our normal care instructions and for longer term care and maintenance we recommend our Japanese knife care kit.

VG7 is an easy steel to sharpen and maintain and ideal for passionate home cooks and professionals alike.

Our Verdict

Classy, great value for money and an excellent option for both home and professional kitchens (and an ideal gift choice too).

For those seeking low maintenance edges with a thinner geometry then look no further!
