First Impressions

Out of the box, the quality of the finish on the cutting edge is immediately apparent and the Fūjin is right up there with the very best knives for out of the box sharpness and Kurosaki san has once again created something special with this range.

Beauty

These are astonishingly beautiful knives, the hammer finish designed to invoke feelings of motion from the wind of the God Fūjin combined with the subtle exposed tapering of the core SG2 steel down to the cutting edge really do make the Fūjin every bit a piece of high performance art.

In Hand

Well balanced and relatively lightweight the Fūjin is typically paired with a tradtional wa handle made from either ebony and white buffalo horn or rosewood and sometimes limited edition yo handles in a variety of materials.

Durability

The SG2 core steel clad in stainless is already very sharp out of the box and edge retention and durability of the steel is top notch.

Ease of Care & Maintenance Tips

Very easy to care for, SG2 is stainless, durable and retains an edge well so follow our normal care guide and perhaps consider storing your knife on one of our magnetic racks when not in use.

Our Verdict

Given the outstanding sharpness, the design, fit and finish and Yu Kurosaki's experience and skill as a master blacksmith the Fūjin range is great value for money and much like his other ranges you're getting a great deal of skill and quality for your money.

Yu Kurosaki's work is in high demand for good reason.
