The Hakata knife is a versatile Japanese kitchen knife from the Hakata region of Fukuoka, known for its distinctive shape.

It features a tall heel, a flat to slightly curved edge, and a pointed kiritsuke-style tip. This design allows for a variety of cutting techniques—push cuts, slicing, and some rocking motions—blending elements of the Santoku, Bunka and Gyuto. The taller profile provides good knuckle clearance, while the sharp tip excels at precise tasks like trimming and scoring.

Highly adaptable, the Hakata knife is ideal for chopping vegetables, slicing proteins, and fine prep work and so is a very useful all-rounder.

ℹ️ This knife has been coated with a food-safe protective lacquer on the blade for transport and storage. It is recommended you remove it before use.
