First Impressions

SRS13 is a high performance powdered steel that combines the durability and edge retention properties of carbon steels but with the convenience of being a stainless steel so right out of the box the knife has a great edge and retains it well and performs at an excellent level.

Beauty

Tsunehisa make various different types of the SRS13 knife so depending on your preference and style, you can choose between handles and either the Japanese wa or Western style yo handle for the blade.

In Hand

That rounding of the heel edge really does make the knife very comfortable in the hand and it's a joy to use and on the darker handled migaki knives you do definitely notice this closer attention to detail and finishing compared to the lower priced oak handled knives which are still finished nicely along the heel and spine but not quite to the same degree.

Durability

The SRS13 is a great steel as already mentioned above and for durability you get a hardness around 63-64HRC which means you get that sharp edge and a high level of durabilty.

Ease of Care & Maintenance Tips

A stainless core steel and cladding mean this is a great low maintenance knife with a very high level of performance so beyond the normal care instructions it's perfect for someone who doesn't want to worry about anything other than the food prep in front of them!

Our Verdict

This is a great range combining a really great design aesthetic in the various handled versions and finish standard with a high quality, easy to maintain steel that holds a wicked edge.
