First Impressions

Top notch performance and edge retention with an exceptional heat treat for durability.

Beauty

Much like the Denka, the Shirogami line continues a theme that can sometimes be described as a little "rustic".

Perfection in the looks department is not why you buy a Fujiwara but there's undoubtedly a charm to the wabi-sabi looks and finishing.

In Hand

Fitted with either a traditional octagonal magnolia wa handle or the full tang black pakka wood, your preference for weight and balance point may guide your ultimate personal preference.

Durability

The Shirogami #1 has been pushed to a high level of 64-65HRC which offers excellent durability and edge retention.

Ease of Care & Maintenance Tips

This knife is easy enough to care for and sharpen if you follow our carbon steel care tips. For longer term care, we recommend a carbon steel care kit.

Our Verdict

There are a lot of similarities with the iconic Denka range but with the benefit of a slightly easier to maintain Shirogami #1 core and with that, a very competitive price point for some superb, high performance knives from one of Japan's most famous blackmsiths.
