Anryu knives is a 5th generation company established in 1873 and widely known for their quality blades. Their reputation continued to grow under the leadership of Katsushige Anryu who made the knives in a traditional way for more than 50 years until his retirement in early 2021. In the years leading up to his retirement, his nephew Takumi Ikeda was training and working on the production and now leads the company and continues to make their excellent knives in the same traditional way and is a well established and skilled blacksmith in his own right.
